New Patients

We’re pleased to welcome new patients to our clinic. If it’s your first visit, please aim to arrive around 15 minutes early, unless you’ve already completed your new patient forms online.

Switching from another practice? You’re welcome to request a transfer of your medical records ahead of your appointment.

Appointment Options

  • Standard Appointments (10–15 minutes): Great for general medical issues or single concerns.
  • Long Appointments (20–30 minutes): Recommended if you have several matters to discuss or need extra time. If not available to book online, please contact our reception team.
  • Phone Consultations: Available for select health concerns and booked the same way as in-person visits. Regular fees and Medicare rebates apply.
  • Extended Consultations: For more complex needs such as care plans, minor procedures, forms, mental health support, or health assessments. Please let reception know when booking so we can allocate the right time.

Urgent Appointments

We aim to accommodate same-day bookings for urgent medical needs wherever possible. If your usual doctor isn’t available, one of our nurses may assess your condition or help direct you to the most appropriate care including emergency services when necessary.

We offer phone consultations for suitable health concerns. These are billed at the same rate as face-to-face appointments, with Medicare rebates available for eligible patients.

Reaching Tewantin Medical Centre from Noosa Heads is simple and convenient. Our clinic is located on Poinciana Avenue in Tewantin, just a short drive away, with free street parking and public transport options available.

Driving to the Clinic:

If you’re coming from Noosa Heads, start by taking Weyba Road toward Mary Street in Noosaville. Continue onto Gibson Road, then follow the road to Hilton Terrace.

Stay on Hilton Terrace as it leads you into Tewantin. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Poinciana Avenue. You’ll find Tewantin Medical Centre just ahead on the left.

Street parking is available nearby for patient convenience.

By Public Transport:

From Noosa Heads, take the 631 bus from Noosa Parade at Quamby Place, heading towards Nambour Station.

  • The journey takes approximately 11 minutes, with 10 stops along the way.
  • Get off at Tewantin Central.

From the bus stop, it’s just a short 3-minute walk to Tewantin Medical Centre. This route provides a convenient public transport option for patients travelling from the Noosa area.

Tewantin Medical Centre operates as a private billing clinic. Most services including follow-up appointments, prescription renewals, and results discussions will incur an out-of-pocket cost.

Need to reschedule? Please contact reception on (07) 5313 3277 as early as possible. A fee may apply for late cancellations or missed appointments.

You’ll receive an SMS reminder prior to your appointment or if any follow-up is required. If you’d rather not get text messages, simply let our reception team know.

To ensure your ongoing care is safe and appropriate, most repeat prescriptions require a consultation. In some situations, a phone appointment may be suitable. If it has been over four months since your last visit, we may recommend an in-person review.

Your pathology and imaging results are sent directly to your GP for review.

  • If no follow-up is needed, you won’t be contacted unless previously advised.
  • For non-urgent results, you may receive a text message prompting you to book an appointment.
  • If anything requires prompt attention, your GP will be in touch to organise appropriate follow-up care.
