Fees

*Important Notice regarding Fees Effective 11 July 2022*

Over the past 9 years, Tewantin Medical Centre has incurred the cost of continuing to bulk bill patients who hold concession cards despite the medicare rebate failing to keep up with inflation.

Medicare has increased the rebate by only 0.5% per annum on average since the 1980s and has been completely frozen between 2014 and 2018.  We can no longer sustain this as a practice and a business.

From 11 July, Tewantin Medical Centre will become a private billing practice.

CONSULTATION FEES EFFECTIVE 11 July 2022

Standard Consultation $89 – ($39.75 rebate) – no concession/CSHC
Long Consultation $126– ($76.95 rebate)

Health Care Card/Pension Card Holders will incur a $20 out of pocket expense
Standard Consultation $59.75 – ($39.75rebate)
Long Consultation – $96.95 – ($76.95 rebate)

Please note that all first appointments will be privately charged with no concessional rate.

Please note that we can give your rebate immediately if you hold a savings or cheque card.

Please note that we bulk bill patients who hold current identification to certify they are:

. Veterans (DVA Gold) or DVA white if your consultation pertains to your approved coverage.
. Children under 16 years

New Patients: Please note, regardless of concession cards, your first consultation will be charged privately (Veterans excluded).
