Appointments
New Patients
If you’re visiting for the first time, we’re delighted to welcome you. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment if you haven’t already completed your new patient registration online.
Transferring from another practice? Simply request that your medical records be sent to us in advance for a smooth transition of your care.
Appointment Types

Urgent Appointments
We aim to provide same-day appointments for urgent issues. If your regular Noosa North Shore doctor is unavailable, our nursing team will assess your needs and direct you to the most suitable care.

Telehealth consultations are available at the same fee as in-person visits, with Medicare rebates where eligible.
Getting to the clinic
Travelling to Tewantin Medical Centre from Noosa North Shore is straightforward. Simply take the vehicle ferry across the Noosa River, then follow Moorindil Street and turn into Poinciana Avenue. Our clinic is located at 2/84 Poinciana Avenue, with free street parking and convenient public transport nearby.
Driving from Noosa North Shore:
Take the ferry from the Noosa North Shore end of Moorindil Street, then continue into central Tewantin. The clinic is just past the Tewantin Market Garden and the Royal Mail Hotel.
Public Transport:
Regular buses (routes 626 and 632) connect Tewantin with surrounding suburbs. Disembark at the Poinciana Avenue stop near Tewantin Primary School, only a short walk from the clinic.
Billing and Payments
Tewantin Medical Centre is a private billing clinic. Out-of-pocket fees apply to most consultations, including prescription requests, results, and follow-ups.
Changing or Cancelling an Appointment
Please contact our reception team on (07) 5313 3277 as early as possible if you need to reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.
Appointment Reminders
We send SMS reminders before your appointment. If you’d prefer not to receive text reminders, please let our team know.
Repeat Scripts
For safe care, most repeat prescriptions require a consultation. In some cases, a phone consultation may be arranged. If it’s been more than four months since your last visit, we’ll request you attend in person.
Test Results
Results are sent directly to your GP.
- No follow-up required: You won’t be contacted.
- Non-urgent results: You’ll receive an SMS prompting you to book an appointment.
- Urgent results: Your GP will contact you directly.
