Appointments
New Patients
If you’re joining us for the first time, we’re happy to have you. Please arrive about 15 minutes early for your initial appointment if you haven’t completed your new patient registration online.
Transferring from another clinic? You can request your medical records to be sent to us before your visit.
Appointment Types
- Standard Consultations (10–15 minutes): Suitable for most everyday concerns.
- Long Consultations (20–30 minutes): Ideal if you have multiple concerns to discuss or require more time. If long appointments aren’t available online, please call our friendly reception team.
- Phone Consultations: Offered for eligible concerns, booked like face-to-face appointments. Fees and Medicare rebates apply as normal.
- Extended Appointments: For complex needs such as health assessments, mental health care plans, minor procedures, forms, or medicals. Please let reception know when booking.
Urgent Appointments
We do our best to offer same-day appointments for urgent issues. If your usual doctor isn’t available, our nursing team may assess your condition or guide you toward appropriate care, including emergency services if needed.
Phone Consultation
We provide telehealth consultations, which are charged the same as in-person visits. Medicare rebates are available where eligible.
Getting to the clinic
Getting to Tewantin Medical Centre is quick and easy from Noosaville and Noosa Heads. Located on Poinciana Avenue, our clinic is just minutes away, with free street parking and nearby public transport.
Driving to the Clinic:
From Noosaville or Noosa Heads, follow the main route towards Tewantin and continue along Poinciana Avenue. You’ll find us just past the Tewantin Market Garden and Royal Mail Hotel.
Public Transport:
Regular buses (routes 626 and 632) connect Noosa Heads, Noosaville, and Tewantin. Hop off at the Poinciana Avenue at Tewantin Primary School stop – we’re a short walk from there.

Billing and Payments
Tewantin Medical Centre is a private billing practice. This includes consultations for test results, prescription requests, and follow-ups. Out-of-pocket fees apply to most services.
Changing or Cancelling an Appointment
Need to reschedule? Please contact reception on (07) 5313 3277 as early as possible. A fee may apply for late cancellations or missed appointments.

We’ll send you an SMS reminder before your appointment or if a follow-up is needed. Prefer not to receive texts? Just let our team know.
Repeat Scripts
Generally, a consultation is required for repeat prescriptions to ensure safe and appropriate care. In some cases, a phone consult may be arranged. If it’s been more than four months since your last visit, we may ask you to attend in person.
Test Results
All pathology and imaging results are sent directly to your GP.
- No follow-up required? You won’t be contacted unless advised otherwise.
- Non-urgent results? You’ll receive a text asking you to book an appointment.
- Urgent results? Your GP will contact you directly to arrange follow-up care.
If you’re unsure whether your results have arrived, feel free to call our reception. Appointments to discuss test results are privately billed with out-of-pocket costs applying.
